The White House has condemned former U.S. President Donald Trump's supporters while noting that U.S. President Joe Biden believed supporters of Trump were also an "extreme threat" to U.S. democracy.

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said in her daily briefing that it is not just Republican leadership, adding that Biden was talking about an extreme part of the party, according to a Breitbart News report.

The press secretary added that there were more examples that they can cite of "Trump supporters and Republican leaders demonstrating their threats to democracy."

She stated that when supporting an "authoritarian figure" and inciting violence, one must say something.

Jean-Pierre specifically cited Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for calling for Dr. Anthony Fauci to be "physically assaulted." DeSantis once said that "someone needs to grab that little elf and chuck him across the Potomac," referring to Fauci.

The press secretary previewed the president's speech scheduled on Thursday regarding the "soul of Democracy" while warning of "extreme" Republicans.

White House on 'Extreme Threat to Democracy'

Jean-Pierre noted in a National Review report that Biden has been clear that he thinks there is "an extremist threat to our democracy."

The press secretary then claimed that MAGA Republicans "just don't respect the rule of law." She further noted that they are pursuing an agenda that "takes away people's rights."

Biden said at a donor event in Bethesda, Maryland on Thursday that the entire "MAGA philosophy" is like "semi-fascism." Jean-Pierre then defended Biden's comments and said that MAGA Republicans have been "taking away our rights, our voting rights."

A local GOP office in Seminole County in Florida was vandalized with a vulgar message reading "Eat sh** fascists" days after Biden accused Republicans of semi-fascism.

Donald Trump Supporters

Republican Rep. Adam Kinzinger called out his own party for criticizing Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server while still defending Trump's decision to take sensitive government information to his Mar-a-Lago residence. Kinzinger's comments came days after the FBI issued a redacted version of the affidavit the agency.

The Guardian noted that Kinzinger said "the hypocrisy of folks" on his part are now defending Trump, whom he described as a man who did not take the national security of the U.S. to heart while criticizing Clinton's deleted emails at the time.

The representative, who will be retiring from Congress after this term, said that it was "disgusting" in his mind and that no "president should act this way, obviously."

It is not yet clear if Trump will be facing criminal charges in the matter.

The former president has a federal judge to appoint a special master who would identify whether the documents the FBI seized from Mar-a-Lago can be used in any criminal investigation on him.

Kinzinger is part of the U.S. House select committee probing the January 6 Capitol riot. He was one of the two Republicans to be part of the committee.

The other Republican was Rep. Liz Cheney. She lost being re-elected in a party primary against Trump-supported challenger Harriet Hageman.
