Stimulus Check 2022 has been announced in Florida in mid-July by Gov. Ron DeSantis. It was a one-time check worth $450 and being sent out to families that are caregivers, foster parents, or on state assistance programs.

The check payments were projected to benefit 59,000 families who will receive them, according to a CNBC News report.

To fall in the category of receiving these one-time checks, you should be also receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families cash assistance.

The state of Florida has announced a new stimulus check payments scheme, which will be issued by Florida's Department of Economic Opportunity.

MARCA News reported that thousands of Americans will receive a $1,000 bonus check as part of a first responders support program.

Gov. Ron DeSantis said that the payments were made available through Florida's Essential First Responders Recognition Program.

DeSantis said that around 100,000 Floridians will be receiving the bonus check payments.

To be eligible for this stimulus check payment, one must be employed as an essential first responder serving a local government as a sworn law enforcement officer. If not in law enforcement, they should be a firefighter, paramedic, or emergency medical technician. The first responder had to be employed before May 1, 2022.

The amount of checks the eligible recipients will receive differs depending on the number of hours worked by the eligible person each week.

An employee working at least 40 hours a week will get a check for $1,00 while someone who works at least 30 hours a week can get a payment of $750.

Those who work for at least 20 hours every seven days will receive a bonus check worth $500 while those with working hours of at least 10 hours per week will receive a stimulus check payment of $250.

Stimulus Check Payments or Bonus Check

Gov. Ron DeSantis said that he knows how hard everybody has been working, particularly since COVID. He added that he thought last year that it would be appropriate to show the state's support.

The Republican governor first personally handed out the checks to the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue, amounting to more than $2.1 million, as reported by First Coast News.

Captain Chris Stover of JFRD said that being a firefighter "is fulfilling and rewarding," adding that the last couple of years have been more stressful than normal.

JFRD's Chief Keith Powers said that members of JFRD work hard every day. Powers said that they lost a firefighter in the line of duty due to COVID.

Meanwhile, Newsweek reported that the bonus checks touted by DeSantis were paid for by U.S. President Joe Biden's American Rescue Plan.

The media outlet highlighted that the bonuses were not paid for through state funding but paid for by the federally funded program that the Republican governor has previously criticized.
