A new book revealed that former President Donald Trump did admit to taking some "tremendous stuff" from the White House, including letters from North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un, when he jetted to his Mar-a-Lago mansion after his term.

The latest Trump tell-all book "Confidence Man: The Making of Donald Trump and the Breaking of America" is written by American journalist Maggie Haberman and to be published next week.

In the book, Haberman revealed that Trump told her he took the letters that Kim Jong-un had sent him and other "tremendous stuff" when he left the White House on the day President Joe Biden was inaugurated, New York Daily News reported.

"Most of it is in the archives, but the Kim Jong-un letters... we have incredible things," the former president told Haberman in an Atlantic interview conducted before the FBI search of Trump's Florida home on August 8.

Federal prosecutors are currently investigating Trump for possible violations of the Espionage Act, mishandling classified documents, and obstruction of justice in connection with the Mar-a-Lago raid, which turned up around 10,000 government records and more than 100 classified documents.

But despite improperly grabbing off with the cache of documents, the former president insisted that he did not take any important documents when he left the White House.

"Nothing of great urgency, no," Trump told Haberman, who often writes for The New York Times.

However, part of the current investigations against Trump had shown that he removed some of the White House top secret documents and improperly took them to his Mar-a-Lago mansion.

New Book Sparks Speculations About Why Donald Trump Took Documents

The book reportedly dropped at least one major hint at the answer to why former President Donald Trump took several important White House documents at his Mar-a-Lago home after he finished his term.

According to Salon, there are three main speculations as to why Trump would do such a thing that is not appropriate, as all documents of any president's administration belong to the United States.

The first reason would be Trump is a hoarder who can't throw anything away. He may have simply thrown boxes of documents into his home without actually looking at the contents. The second speculation was he intended to sell them. Trump often considers himself the greatest dealmaker, and this may be plausible because of that.

The final reason may be for leverage against certain individuals. Reports have shown that Trump liked to look over intelligence briefings about his foreign counterparts, especially the ones he did not like, including French President Emmanuel Macron. One of the documents seized from Mar-a-Lago was several documents relating to Macron's personal life.

This one reportedly seems the most likely reason if we based on Maggie Haberman's book that focuses on the interviews she had with Trump after he had left office.

New Book May Have Revealed Why Donald Trump Wants To Run For President Again

A report from CNN also revealed that Donald Trump also talked to Maggie Haberman about his motivations for running for president again, despite all the legal battles he is currently facing.

Haberman asked Trump why he was running for president again. He answered by saying, "the question I get asked more than any other question: 'If you had it to do again, would you have done it?'"

The former president added, "The answer is, yeah, I think so. Because here's the way I look at it. I have so many rich friends and nobody knows who they are."

In a startling admission, the former president confirmed that he is running because it will make him even more famous. According to CNN, the presidency, for Donald Trump, was nothing more than a means to an end.
