Norman Reedus' Daryl Dixon is a favorite among "The Walking Dead" fans, but according to Reedus, the upcoming season will have a lot of personalities to love.

"These scripts are the best scripts so far, and I'm really just excited to be back at it," Reedus told Entertainment Weekly this week. "There are a lot of characters right now, so there are a lot of really different personalities on set. And it's super interesting; everyone's really bringing it."

According to Reedus, Season 5 of the AMC hit is "dynamic because it's so fast-paced and so complicated," but he's particularly interested in the characters this season.

"Everybody on the whole team is so bada-- right now," Reedus said. "It's interesting, because a lot of personalities are clashing, or characters' personalities are clashing. But yeah, we definitely have Rick back."

Season 5 also marks Scott M. Gimple's second full season as showrunner, and Reedus says the producer even has something planned for "The Walking Dead's" eventual series finale.

"Scott, he's so good at his job, and he's such a great storyteller and such a good writer," Reedus explained. "He has this thing planned out to the end, I think. He's definitely very qualified for the job. I never felt like we weren't stable, though. I feel like we're as stable as we ever were, just we have the confidence that we have this team back. It's such a well-oiled machine right now."

Gimple isn't the only one doing great things on "The Walking Dead." Andrew Lincoln, who plays Rick Grimes, recently congratulated Carol Peletier actress Melissa McBride on her Critics' Choice Awards nomination for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.

"It makes me so happy," Lincoln told GoldDerby last week. "It makes me more happy than getting recognition myself. ... Any actor that has acted with Melissa McBride knows they're in the company of -- I won't say genius, but a uniqueness that is extraordinary and incredibly captivating. I mean, I came to this country to work with people of that quality."
