UFC President Dana White and his wife, Anne White, got into a physical fight on New Year's Eve, shocking onlookers in a crowded nightclub at Cabo San Lucas in Mexico.

According to TMZ, the president of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) later expressed regret about the incident, saying it was fueled by alcohol.

Dana and his wife, who have been married for 26 years, were partying with family and friends on Saturday night at El Squid Roe when things turned unexpectedly shortly after they welcomed the first day of 2023 at midnight.

The party was happening in a VIP section above the dance floor when Dana bent over to say something to Anne, who reacted by slapping him in the face.

In response, Dana slapped her back in the face before their mutual friends intervened and pulled them apart. According to TMZ, the video confirms that Dana and Anne were heavily intoxicated just before the fight broke out.

The dispute would reportedly not have escalated so rapidly because there seemed to be no reason except for the booze. Eyewitnesses told the outlet that the incident did not last a minute.

UFC President Dana White Slaps Wife and Regrets It

Dana White said he does not recall much about the confrontation's lead-up and fallout as he had drunk too much.

He told TMZ that he and his family are still in Mexico and had already discussed the fight with Anne and his three children.

The UFC president acknowledged that the clash with his wife was alcohol-fueled but noted that there's never "an excuse for a guy to put his hands on a woman," MMA Junkie reported.

He added that it had never happened before and would accept what people would say about it as he deserved it.

"People are going to say what they're going to say. It is what it is. And whatever people do say, it's deserved. I deserve it. It happened," he noted.

"I could care less what people think about this. We're more concerned about our kids and taking care of our family," he concluded.

Anne White Backs Dana White in a Statement

Anne White, who supports her husband's assertion that he had never physically attacked her before the incident in Mexico, released a supplemental statement confirming his account, according to MMA Fighting.

"Dana and I have been married for almost 30 years. To say this is out of character for him is an understatement -- nothing like this has ever happened before. Unfortunately, we were both drinking too much on New Year's Eve and things got out of control, on both sides," Anne told TMZ.

She noted they had already talked "this through as a family and apologized to each other," adding that she hoped people would respect their privacy for the sake of their kids.

According to reports, the police were not called, and no charges were made. UFC representatives, UFC parent-company Endeavor, and TBS, the television partner of Dana White's Power Slap league, have yet to comment about the incident.
