Jenna Ortega paid tribute to the original Wednesday Addams actor, Lisa Loring, who died at 64.

At six, Loring was the first actress to play Wednesday Addams on the sitcom "The Addams Family."

"Wednesday" on Netflix features Ortega, 20, as the teen version of the gloomy pigtailed character, Geo News noted.

Ortega posted a tribute to Loring on her Instagram Story after her death. She posted a snapshot of a young Lisa in character.

"Absolutely devastated. Thank you for everything," she captioned.

The post follows the announcement of Lisa Loring's death.

Vanessa Foumberg, Loring's daughter, announced that her mother passed away Saturday night at Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank from complications stemming from a stroke brought on by hypertension.

Jenna Ortega Paid Homage to Lisa Loring on Her Viral Wednesday Addams Dance

Jenna Ortega was nominated for a Golden Globe as best actress in a musical or comedy series for her performance in the Netflix spinoff aimed at fashionable young adults, per Pop Sugar.

Additionally, Ortega is competing for a SAG Award on February 26 for outstanding performance by a female actor in a comedy series.

Tim Burton's Netflix series follows "The Addams Family" member as she goes off on her own to a spooky boarding school for kids with magical abilities.

She settles an issue with her parents and unravels a mystery at her new school.

Ortega appeared on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" before Lisa Loring death in December and discussed her impact and how she honored her in the new Netflix series, reported Hollywood Life.

In the scene, Ortega was seen performing as Wednesday in a dance for high school that she choreographed, stating that she took some cues from Lisa Loring and added "a little bit of her shuffle that she performs" from the original show, according to Newsweek.

"I did a little bit of her shuffle that she does. Of course, they cut out of camera when I did do it, but it's there! I know it is!"

In the wake of Jenna Ortega's viral Wednesday dance, fans took to Twitter to remember Loring's iconic depiction of Wednesday Addams and discuss how she always had the movements.

Lisa Loring Played Wednesday Addams at Six and Can't Read

"The Addams Family" only ran for two seasons (1964-1966), but it is apparent that Lisa Loring's performance as Wednesday inspired subsequent portrayals of the wonderfully evil child by actresses like Christina Ricci and Jenna Ortega.

The original interview with Lisa Loring revealed that she was five years old when she got the part and that filming did not begin until after turning six, claiming that she did not even know how to read, Cinemablend reports.

"I was five and a half when I auditioned for this part. The producer, David Levy, told me later on, he said, 'I was not prepared to see children of your age that didn't know how to read yet.' I didn't know how to read yet. But he said what got him was my long hair. So the first thing he asked me to do was pout. Won him over. The pout was very essential to the Wednesday character."

The actress continued by saying that it was sometimes challenging to portray Wednesday because her co-stars Carolyn Jones, John Astin, Jackie Coogan, and Ted Cassidy were funny, but she had to remain gloomy.
