Even though Rihanna rocked the stage during halftime of Super Bowl 57 between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs at the State Farm Stadium in Arizona, not everyone was impressed.

The Barbadian pop icon is being accused by many on social media of "lip-syncing" her way through the event, with others dubbing it the "worst ever" violation in the history of halftime shows, The NY Post reports.

Fans took to the internet to express their admiration, with others saying her actions were a "powerful statement" for women everywhere.

Even though Rihanna's performance of "Umbrella" was excellent, several wannabe music critics slammed her for allegedly using prerecorded sounds and miming along to the lyrics.

Social Media Reacts to Rihanna Super Bowl Halftime Show Performance

The 34-year-old singer came from the top in a spectacular crimson attire, accompanied by a group of dancers. It was her first public performance in more than five years.

She then performed a medley of her classics, including "We Found Love," "Rude Boy," "Diamonds," "Umbrella," and "Work," to name a few, for the thousands of people in the stadium and the millions of people watching at home.

However, her social media followers have accused the pop queen of lip-syncing.

Others went so far as to call it the "worst ever" Super Bowl performance.

One person said: "Amazing how Rihanna is able to keep singing even when she puts the mic aside and doesn't move her lips at all."

A second added: "You know I love you, but that's the worst lips sync ever. OMG."

While another observed: "Rihanna not even having the mic near her mouth while the lyrics are playing. Why bother doing the halftime show if you're not even gonna try and lip sync, bizarre."

But according to NFL policy, stars record their sets before the big show to have a backup plan in case they need to focus on their breathing for complex choreography, moving sets, and surprise cameos, so it is not a cardinal sin.

Although some people did not like Rihanna, she still had a sizable fanbase who adored her, per LAD Bible.

One fan said: "Now THAT was a halftime show!! DAMN.

"Everyone involved in the direction, choreography, staging, dancing, and construction deserves so much credit for that #SuperBowl HT show."

Rihanna has stated it was "about time" for her to sing at the Super Bowl after years of avoiding the event.

She said that she felt like it was now or never for her as the Super Bowl is one of the world's biggest stages, and it's an entertainer's dream to be on a stage like that.

Meanwhile, Rihanna will not be paid a single penny for her fantastic performance at Super Bowl 57, although she rocked Arizona's State Farm Stadium.

The Super Bowl Halftime Show performers are not compensated as they will perform for the largest crowd they will most likely ever have, dramatically boosting their record and merchandise sales.

Rihanna Super Bowl Halftime Show Surprise Guest

Rihanna's news that she has a second child was more of a surprise than a customary special guest.

Her agents confirmed the good news after admirers saw her cradling a bump and began to speculate online.

Somehow, Rihanna's huge indications that she was pregnant with her second child last week went unnoticed.

During Super Bowl 57 promotions, Rihanna was asked if she had any surprises for the halftime performance, Mirror noted.

When the host said that the singer did not have to tell everything right then, she said, "Right, because it wouldn't be a surprise."

She added, "I'm thinking about bringing someone. I'm not sure. We'll see."
