Three men were convicted in the XXXTentacion murder case, with the Florida jury finding the suspects, Michael Boatwright, Dedrick Williams, and Trayvon Newsome, all guilty of first-degree murder and armed robbery.

In June 2018, the rapper was shot and killed outside a motorsport store in Broward County. The suspects also robbed him of $50,000 in cash, according to CNN.

The 20-year-old rapper had his music career breakthrough when his song "Look at Me" went viral on social media and audio platform SoundCloud in 2016.

The Florida rapper's "?" 2018 album was at the top spot when first released.

Meanwhile, a documentary, "Look At Me: XXXTENTACION," was released in 2022. It was produced by his mother and his manager, with the documentary talking about his life and legacy.

XXXTentacion Murder Case

XXXTentacion is known by his real name Jaseh Dwayne Onfroy. During the time of his death, investigators making the case had taken a long time to determine the motive for the murder or to even make any arrests.

Police and members of his inner circle both believe that the murder might have simply been a robbery gone wrong.

Miami New Times reported that an acquaintance of the rapper, Talussa Lee, said he did not hear about the 20-year-old rapper "having beef with anyone locally."

Another acquaintance, Daniel Calle, said he did not know of any ongoing feuds that might have involved the rapper.

The rapper was leaving Riva Motorsports when he was approached by two armed suspects, with at least one of them firing into the car, hitting Onfroy.

The two suspects then fled the scene in a black SUV, which was identified in a dispatch call as a Dodge Journey.

Witnesses at the scene said the rapper did not have a pulse when authorities arrived. He was then transported to Broward North General but was later pronounced dead.

At first, fans speculated that another local rapper, Soldier Kidd, might have been the perpetrator. He was near the scene and had recently uploaded a photo with a red mask, which was an item the suspects were described with.

XXXTentacion Verdict

Prosecutors linked the men to the June 18, 2018 shooting of the rapper during the monthlong trial. They used an extensive surveillance video taken inside and outside the store, including cellphone videos showing them flashing fistfuls of $100 bills hours after the murder.

A former friend of the defendants, Robert Allen, was also used by prosecutors during the trial. Allen pleaded guilty last year to second-degree murder and has not been sentenced, as reported by NPR.

Meanwhile, defense attorneys accused Allen of being a liar and were driven to give the statement to avoid a life sentence.

The defense team also claimed that prosecutors and detectives executed a "poor investigation," citing examples that they did not look at other possible suspects, such as Canadian rapper Drake, whom XXXTentacion had an online feud with.

Williams was accused of being the SUV driver, with Allen also inside the vehicle.

Newsome, Williams, and Boatwright will be sentenced on April 6.
