Here's how much Britney Spears' net worth in 2023 and how much the conservatorship may have cost the "Toxic" singer.

The conservatorship that controlled Spears' personal and financial affairs for more than a decade has already ended following a court ruling.

However, controversy still follows her as Spears has an upcoming tell-all memoir, and several celebrities, like Justin Timberlake, are scared she will reveal some juicy information about them.

Spears is one of the 1990s' biggest pop stars. Currently, she ranked in the top 10 highest-selling female musicians of all time, selling more than Pink and Adele with over 100 million record sales.

Many credited her for reviving the teen pop genre in the late 1990s, and she was known for her hits like "Baby One More Time," "Ooops! I Did It Again," and "Toxic."

Her career peaked in the early 2000s, but she then had a downward spiral that almost cost her her career, which she is now trying to revive.

Even though she has sold over 100 million records worldwide and is arguably one of the most well-known musicians on the planet, she has battled some mental health issues that led to her conservatorship, which controlled most aspects of her life.

Britney Spears' 'Toxic' Conservatorship and Upcoming Memoir

As she was dealing with mental health problems, Britney Spears was involuntarily placed under a conservatorship by a judge in 2008, with her father, James "Jamie" Spears, and lawyer Andrew Wallet, acting as conservators.

Under conservatorship, she was not allowed to spend her hard-earned money as she chose to and was also not free to make an array of decisions for herself, according to Parade.

Conservatorships are usually put in place for people who cannot feed, clothe or care for themselves. Her father makes all the decisions for her then, even her choice of attorney.

This setup went on for over a decade, with the pop icon not being allowed to do anything without her father's permission. It soon sparked the #FREEBRITNEY movement. Finally, in November 2021, a judge ruled that the conservatorship must be terminated.

Now that she is free, she is ready to share juicy or exclusive details about her life, and it has made many Hollywood celebrities like Justin Timberlake afraid of what she might say after she inked a whopping $15 million book deal with Simon & Schuster for a tell-all memoir.

That memoir has hit a snag, with The Vulture reporting that the singer was still not done writing her memoir. Spears recently admitted that it may take her "a year or maybe longer" to finish it.

The pop star is expected to not just talk about her experience during the conservatorship but also talk about her relationships with Justin Timberlake and Colin Farrell.

Britney Spears' Net Worth 2023

Britney Spears reportedly has a net worth of $60 million. According to Celebrity Net Worth, the money came from touring, record sales, endorsement deals, and her successful Las Vegas residency, which she did at the height of her conservatorship.

The $60 million figure may be a huge amount to many, but it is actually small for Spears' megastar stature. According to Forbes, Jennifer Lopez and Jessica Simpson, who have careers similar to Spears' in many ways, have fortunes of over $100 million.

The outlet suggested that Spear's father did not manage her daughter's money well. Plus, she reportedly stopped doing TV commercials in 2015, has yet to release new music since 2016, and stopped touring in 2018.

However, because of her upcoming memoir and projects, Britney Spears is expected to have more money in the coming months as many are still interested in what she has to say, especially about those Hollywood A-listers who were linked to her in the past years.
