After a shocking video of a group of California teens beating up thee off-duty Marines on a pier in Southern California, five of them were arrested. The attack happened near the Camp Pendleton Marine Corps base in San Clemente.

Security cameras have caught a large group of youths ganging up and beating up three people on a beach. The video showed the three marines, who were off-duty and not in uniform, being kicked on the ground by the teens before a man and a woman broke up the attack.

The Orange County Sheriff's Department stated that they initially found two victims before determining that there was also a third victim who was assaulted by the teens. Firefighters who responded to the assault provided medical aid to the Marines soon after, though the Marines refused to be taken to the hospital. No major injuries have been reported.

The Associated Press reported that there is still no motive for the attack, with Orange County Sheriff's Sgt. Mike Woodruff stated that they are still looking into the matter and investigating the cause of the attack.

Marines Were Outnumbered By California Teens Over 10-1

The marines were reportedly enjoying themselves as it was the Memorial Day weekend, However, as they were walking toward the San Clemente Pier Bowl late Friday, a mob of up to 40 teens followed them and beat them up. The Marines were essentially outnumbered by over 40 to 1.

Sheriff's Sgt. Mike Woodruff stated that there was an "undetermined amount of remaining suspects" and added, "With approximately 30-plus individuals and the Marines getting engulfed, the investigators have to review all camera evidence available to determine who did what."'

While highly trained for actual combat, the Marines were far too outnumbered, but they did try to fight back. One of them, identified as serviceman Hunter Antonino, dropped whatever he was holding at that time and charged one of their attackers, knocking him to the ground, according to the New York Post.

However, the numbers were too much and the three were quickly surrounded by the youths and ganged up. Soon after, the Orange County Sheriff's Department reported that four boys and one girl were arrested.

While no official motive for the attack was determined yet, many believe that the attack was caused after the three off-duty marines scolded a group of teens for lighting up fireworks.

One of the Assaulted Marines Speaks Up

According to CBS News, Hunter Antonino, one of the three Marines who was assaulted on that California beach, has finally spoken up about the incident.

He stated that they were "stomped on" and "beat up" by the circle of assailants. The Orange County Sheriff's Department has since vowed to investigate the matter "to the fullest."

San Clemente Mayor Chris Duncan is now also aware of the incident. The teens may be charged with Assault and Battery, as well as Assault With a Deadly Weapon. Kicking somebody unprotected in the head is considered Assault With a Deadly Weapon.
