In a heart-wrenching incident fueled by road rage, a 4-year-old California boy named Gor Adamyan lost his life in a road rage shooting on Friday night, leaving the community shocked and mourning the loss of a vibrant young life.

The horrifying incident unfolded around 7:30 PM local time, according to ABC 7.

As the California boy's parents were on their way to buy groceries that fateful day, they encountered a suspect driver whose actions escalated into an unthinkable tragedy, according to a statement on a GoFundMe page set up for the victim.

The suspects purportedly pursued the family, intercepting their car on a highway, and proceeded to unleash a hail of gunfire upon the vehicle.

During an interview with Eyewitness News on Monday, a family spokesperson expressed profound outrage regarding the seemingly senseless act of violence.

"It's unimaginable. This could have been any of our families. It could have been any of us," said Lancaster Mayor R. Rex Parris, conveying a sense of disbelief.

Details of the Tragic Road Rage Shooting Unveiled

The violence began when the suspect driver cut off Adamyan's family on the Sierra Highway, per ABC News.

Following the initial pursuit on the highway, the suspects continued to tail the California boy's family through various surface streets, culminating in a tragic and fatal confrontation.

"During the incident, the suspect driver cut them off and then began following them through several surface streets," the LASD said.

As the suspects pursued the family, they pulled up alongside the victim's car and opened fire, hitting the California boy in the torso while he was in the backseat.

Adamyan's parents, unharmed in the incident, rushed him to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Miguel Coronado, a spokesperson for the California boy's parents and executive director of the nonprofit education group Agents for Change, recounted the mother's harrowing experience.

The suspects relentlessly harassed them on the road before firing about eight shots into the car, allegedly handed the gun by a woman in the vehicle.

Swift Justice and Investigation

Within hours of the incident, investigators used crime-fighting technology installed in Lancaster, California, earlier this year to identify and track down the suspects.

A 29-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman were arrested in connection with the murder, PEOPLE noted.

Their identities have not been released, and it was revealed that they allegedly have gang affiliations.

The suspects were located near the scene of the road rage shooting, thanks to the city's "flock cameras" and dashcam footage.

Arrest warrants were served at a Lancaster hotel, and the suspects were taken into custody without incident.

As the investigation unfolds, it remains unclear if there were other minors in the suspects' vehicle.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department stated that no one else was injured in the incident.

The tragic death of the California boy, Gor Adamyan, adds to a concerning trend of gun violence affecting children, with at least 284 children 11 years old or younger losing their lives in shootings this year, according to the Gun Violence Archive.
