This week, Russell Neal walked into a Texas sheriff's office to announce that his wife was dead and that he needed an attorney.

At 6:10 p.m. Wednesday, Neal went to the Harris County station and told officers where to find his wife's body in his west Houston apartment, the New York Daily News reported. Police knocked down the door and found Catherine Martinez's body. She had been stabbed multiple times. She was a 24-year-old fitness model, as well as an aspiring boxer, who went by the stage name Brasilia Martinez.

The Hi-Five singer told police he and his wife were arguing before she died. He refused to answer more questions from the police.

Neal was taken into custody, and Martinez was pronounced dead at the scene. Neal has been charged with murder and is being held on a $100,000 bond.

A witness source said Neal was calm when he was arrested.

"He wasn't resisting arrest or fighting with them, or saying anything," Mary Alice Valencia, who works near the station, told KTRK. "When they brought him out in handcuffs, he was just as calm as can be, and they just put him in a police car."

Neal and Martinez's neighbors were shocked to hear the news. One said Martinez seemed like a good mother.

"The mom, she never really said too much, but you could tell she loved her kids," Quincy Toler told KTRK.

Fans, friends and others who worked with Martinez have taken to Twitter to express their condolences and shock.

These days are not promised to us man. :( Rest in Peace to the mother Brasilia Martinez.
