They say great fighters aren't made in the ring—they're built in the grind. In the heat of daily training, in the constant push and pull between coach and fighter, in the shared pursuit of mastery. Few embody that truth better than Emiliano "Warcorey" Calderón, the Argentinian coach whose influence now stretches from South America to some of the most elite training centers in the United States.

Calderón began his martial arts journey at just sixteen years old in Buenos Aires, Argentina, studying Muay Thai at Dojo Serpiente under world champion Cristian "La Serpiente" Bosch, before adding MMA training at Houdini Fight Club under Esteban Bonaveri. What began as a teenage passion soon became a full-time vocation. He competed in Muay Thai, kickboxing, and MMA—but just as quickly as he grew as a fighter, he began to find his true calling as a teacher.

While still competing, Calderón started coaching and forming his own group of fighters, transmitting not just techniques but a mindset—a culture of discipline, accountability, and self-belief. That foundation would go on to shape some of Argentina's top emerging talents, including Angel "Ironside" Bauza and Facundo Gramajo, both of whom started under Calderón's watch around 2016.

Building Champions in Argentina

Training alongside each other at Dojo Serpiente, Bauza, and Gramajo became testaments to Warcorey's system: precise technical development, disciplined daily structure, and relentless sparring feedback. Every movement—from stance to footwork, pad work, and combinations—was refined under Calderón's supervision.

He instilled in them that fighting wasn't only about physical toughness but about precision, timing, and emotional composure. Through countless amateur bouts, both fighters learned to thrive under pressure and grew into professionals.

Today, their success speaks for itself:

  • Angel "Ironside" Bauza (27) has emerged as one of Argentina's most promising Muay Thai and kickboxing fighters. Standing 6'0" tall, known for his power and grit, Bauza is now fighting for ONE Championship and RWS Muay Thai, two of the largest Muay Thai and MMA promotions in the world.
  • Facundo Gramajo has taken his talents to Asia, fighting in RISE, one of Japan's premier kickboxing organizations.

Both athletes continue to train under Calderón's mentorship—even from a distance.

Coaching Across Continents

When Emiliano Calderón moved to the United States in 2020, it could have marked the end of this collaboration. Instead, it became a new chapter. Adapting to remote coaching, Bauza and Gramajo maintained contact through video sessions, sending sparring footage and receiving technical feedback from their coach thousands of miles away.

This long-distance method required heightened discipline and self-awareness. Fighters learned to self-correct, analyze video, and implement Warcorey's corrections independently. Their continued rise proves that high-level remote coaching can work, breaking traditional barriers in combat sports.

Evolving the Role of the Coach in America

Now based in Florida, Emiliano "Warcorey" Calderón has become an integral part of the Kill Cliff FC training team—one of the most respected MMA gyms in the world—where he works with elite fighters such as Tyler Ray, Ange Loosa, and Emiliano Sordi.

Beyond MMA, he's expanded his reach through Boxr Gym in Miami, where on July 30, 2025, Calderón helped lead a specialized training session for the Miami-Dade School Police Department. The goal: to translate high-performance fight principles into real-world defensive tactics for officers facing violent, weaponless encounters.

"Whether it's a UFC fighter or a police officer, the mission is the same," Calderón explains. "You train the mind and body to stay calm under pressure, to act with precision, and to protect yourself and others."

A Global Impact, Rooted in the Same Philosophy

From Buenos Aires to Miami, Emiliano "Warcorey" Calderón's path reflects evolution—not only of a fighter but of a mentor shaping the next generation. His coaching now bridges continents, proving that great teachers adapt, connect, and inspire no matter the distance.

Through the success of Bauza, Gramajo, and the many professionals he now trains in Florida, Calderón stands as a symbol of the modern fight coach: global, grounded, and relentlessly dedicated to building not just athletes—but complete warriors.
