Who's the real Slim Shady? The rapper, better known simply as Eminem, has declared his intention to release a new album this fall: "The Marshall Mathers LP 2." The news came in the form of a commercial during MTV's music awards, and already the buzz is growing over what to expect out of one of the kings of rap.

This will be Eminem's first album since "Recovery" three years ago. The name of its title suggests that perhaps Eminem will aim to return to his roots with this latest venture. The commercial also indicated that the album would drop Nov. 5.

"Moreover, the commercial indicated that the effort would be executive produced by longtime mentor and Aftermath Entertainment backer Dr. Dre, as well as Def Jam Records co-founder and acclaimed producer Rick Rubin. Dre has executive produced Em's solo albums in the past, most recently 2010's Recovery," reports hiphopdx.com.

"Recovery" was certainly an attempt by Eminem to make sense of and reflect back on some of his demons in a much more mature manner. With a sequel to "The Marshall Mathers LP," the rapper may be trying to reconnect with the raw anger that fueled him to huge success during the beginning of his career.

"'The Marshall Mathers LP,' Eminem's second major label album, is his fastest selling album -- it sold 1.76 million copies its first week -- and his most critically celebrated work, which found him openly struggling with the sudden fame he was struck with following 1999's 'The Slim Shady LP,'"reports the Detroit News.

So far there has already been one single released from the new album. "Survival" featuring Liz Rodriguez hit the internet last week and will be one of the songs on the soundtrack for the upcoming Call of Duty: Ghosts video game. The Rick Rubin-produced "Berserk" is expected to be released on Tuesday.
