Chris Algieri knows that most analysts are already writing him off, but the unbeaten light welterweight champion vowed to prove his doubters wrong in his upcoming showdown against Manny Pacquiao on Nov. 22 in Macau.

Algieri, who holds a 20-0 record with eight knockouts, is looking to pick up where he left off during his win against Ruslan Provodnikov in June.

The 30-year-old said that he has high respect for Pacquiao, but he reiterated that he is not intimidated at all, saying that he is focused on "beating a legend" like the former pound-for-pound king.

"My last fight against Ruslan Provodnikov got the world's attention, now I am going to show what I can really do," Algieri said on Monday via BoxingScene. "I have the utmost respect for Manny and his great team, but make no mistake -- I am here to win and I have nothing on my mind but beating a legend."

Algieri admitted, however, that he is worried about Pacquiao's advantage when it comes to experience in big fights, and not about the Filipino boxing icon's vaunted speed and footwork because he knows that he can neutralize it with his jabs.

"The number one thing that would concern me would be his experience," Algieri said. "In terms of his speed and footwork and the things he does that everyone looks at when they think of Manny, I'm not so worried about that stuff, because what I feel is the great equalizer in boxing is the jab. I don't care what you got. I don't care how strong you are. I don't care how fast you are. A good jab and a good mind can neutralize anything."

Freddie Roach, Pacquiao's trainer, who also trained Provodnikov during the Russian's fight against Algieri, is also concerned about the Huntington, New York native's jab and height advantage.

"I don't care what you got. I don't care how strong you are. I don't care how fast you are. A good jab and a good mind can neutralize anything," Roach said.
