Apple sent out invitations Thursday for a special event in Cupertino, California on Sept. 9. The invitations were very vague but many think that this special event's purpose is to announce a new iPhone.

The invitations, according to CNBC, were sent out to the press and said "9.9.14 Wish we could say more." Apple is staying quiet and trying their hardest not to leak any information out to the general public.

The last major Apple event that included new iPhones was last September, when the company announced the iPhone 5s and 5c.

Wednesday tech website Re/code speculated that iPhone will also announce a wearable device said to be called the iWatch. Re/code originally thought that a wearable announcement would take place sometime in October at a separate event. Now, Re/code says it will be at the Sept. 9 event.

Major publications like Bloomberg and the Wall Street Journal have been reporting that Apple is set to release two different sized iPhones, one that is 4.7 inches and one that is 5.5 inches.

9to5Mac adds more details to the event's logistics. Instead of being held at Apple's headquarters, the Sept. 9 special event will be held at the Flint Center for the Performing Arts in Cupertino. 30 years ago, Apple introduced their very first Mac computer at this venue. But, there's been some additions done by Apple to this venue.

MacRumors reports that a massive three story building has been constructed by Apple. The Flint Center holds way more people than venues that previous Apple events have been held at, so this points to a big announcement and a huge audience.

What do you think about all of these reports now that Apple has finally made the announcement that an event will take place? Do you think the iPhone 6 and the iWatch will be announced on this date?
