The start of the new NBA season is just two weeks away from now, which means that the 2014-15 Fantasy Basketball season is also right around the corner.

This fantasy season looks interesting as there is no clear-cut favorite to become the consensus first pick in league drafts as most fantasy owners are still torn between LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder and Anthony Davis of the New Orleans Pelicans.

But with Durant out for at least the first four weeks of the 2014-15 NBA season, James is now the favorite to be selected first in most fantasy leagues followed by Davis, who is expected to have another breakout year.

James moved up from second to first in NBA.com's Fantasy Basketball Big Board after the Thunder announced that Durant might undergo surgery to repair a "Jones Fracture" in his right foot.

The four-time Most Valuable Player, who averaged 27.1 points to go along with 6.9 rebounds and 6.4 assists last season, is expected to post impressive stats as usual and it could even be better this year as he is now surrounded by a much younger and more potent supporting cast.

Davis, on the other hand, will also be one of the most coveted players in fantasy leagues after posting surprising numbers during his sophomore year last season.

The 21-year-old forward averaged 20.8 points, 10.0 rebounds, 2.8 blocks and 1.3 steals last season, while also shooting 51.9 percent from the field, which was enough for him to take the second spot in the big board.

Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry is currently ranked third followed by Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook. Surprisingly, Durant dropped to 15th, but owners are expected to take a gamble, knowing how productive the reigning Most Valuable Players could be when he is healthy.

Meanwhile, fantasy owners should also keep an eye several players who are ranked low on the big boards, but have the potential to have a breakout season.

Incoming sophomore Gorgui Dieng, ranked No. 130 on the big board, could make a lot of fantasy owners smile this season, especially those who are looking for blocks and rebounds.

The 24-year-old center averaged 9.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocks in their first two preseason games to go along with 10.5 points. His numbers are expected to improve this season with the departure of Kevin Love and questions about Nikola Pekovic's health.

Evan Turner also deserves a serious look based on his performance in their first four preseason games, where he averaged 11.8 points to go along with 6.0 rebounds and 4.3 assists. He could be big for fantasy owners, considering the fact that Celtics starting point guard Rajon Rondo is expected to miss the start of the season.
