The Kansas City Royals pulled even with the San Francisco Giants after scoring a dominating 10-0 win in Game 6 of the 2014 World Series at Kauffman Stadium on Tuesday in Kansas City, Missouri.

The Royals unleashed a huge rally in the second inning, scoring seven runs to take a commanding 7-0 lead, and never looked back en route to the impressive victory to force a Game 7 series-decider Wednesday night.

With the Royals ahead 2-0 in the second inning after Alex Gordon and Venezuelan shortstop Alcides Escobar, Lorenzo Cain hit a two-run single, which was followed by a two-run double from Eric Hosmer, who then scored off a double from Billy Butler to take a commanding 7-0 lead heading into the third inning.

Cain and Escobar looped one-run doubles in the third and fifth inning, while Mike Moustakas made it 10-0 with 391-feet homerun in the seventh inning.

"We'll take any win possible right now. Close, blowout, it doesn't matter," Cain said after the match via MLB.com. "We came out swinging and we definitely needed everyone in the lineup to step up."

Dominican Republic-born Royals pitcher Yordano Ventura took the spotlight in the biggest game of his young career so far as he pitched seven scoreless innings, allowing just three hits to take his first World Series victory.

"[Ventura] did an outstanding job on the bump. He went out there and he was lights-out," Cain said of the 23-year-old pitcher. "We need to swing the bats and have another outstanding outing from our starting pitcher tomorrow."

Ventura, who became the fourth rookie to start four times in MLB playoff history, dedicated the match to compatriot Oscar Taveras, who died in a car accident in their native Dominican Republic on Sunday.

Royals manager Ned Yost praised Ventura for the way he withstood the pressure in pitching against the Giants, who were a favorite to win the title heading into Game 6.

"You've got a 23-year-old kid pitching the biggest game that this stadium has seen in 29 years with our backs against the wall, and he goes out there in complete command of his emotions with great stuff and throws seven shutout innings," Yost said. "I mean, we've talked all along about how special he is, but this just shows it."
