Both a CNN documentary and an NBC miniseries have been canceled amid concerns that former president Bill Clinton's scandals from during his time in office would resurface.

"I discovered that nobody, and I mean nobody, was interested in helping me make this film," director Charles Ferguson said in an essay to The Huffington Post.

"I still believe that Mrs. Clinton has many virtues including great intelligence, fortitude, and a deep commitment to bettering the lives of women and children worldwide," he added.

According to the New York Daily News, NBC then proceeded to discard an idea of a four-hour miniseries about Hillary Clinton, which would have starred Diane Lane.

"After reviewing and prioritizing our slate of movie/miniseries development, we've decided that we will no longer continue developing the Hillary Clinton miniseries," NBC Entertainment said.

Republicans, on the other hand, were worried that the networks would be partial to the democrats at a time when many candidates from various parties are gearing up for a potential 2016 presidential run.

Hillary Clinton has not yet announced whether she will run for president but she is currently favored in polls from the summer. A recent CNN Poll concluded that 65 percent of Democrats and independents currently want Clinton to be the next president.

Hillary served under current president Barack Obama when she was the Secretary of State during the first term. Prior that she worked as a U.S. senator in New York State following her two-term stint as First Lady when her husband was president.
