Fifty Shades of Grey fans may have to stay disappointed it seems, as producers insist that Charlie Hunnam and Dakota Johnson are here to stay.

The cyber jungle has been aflutter for almost two years, with guesses and desires for who would be the ideal celebrities to occupy the lead roles. And, once it was announced, devastation about the chosen pair spread like a wildfire. Even so, "GREYsessed" individuals have not given up on their efforts or their petition (85,666 signature strong), which they think hope will help them to move Alexis Bledel and Matt Bomer into their "rightful" place as Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey.

The author, E.L. James, and producer, Diana Brunetti personally chose Charlie Hunnam and Dakota Johnson for the roles, and they are eager to defend their decisions and their actors.

"There is a lot that goes into casting that isn't just looks. Talent, availability, their desire to do it, chemistry with other actor, etc," tweeted producer Dana Brunetti. "So if your favorite wasn't cast then it is most likely due to something on that list. Keep that in mind while hating and keep perspective."

E.L. James even forewarned fans, stating that they weren't going to be satisfied with her choice, but that still didn't seem to ease their anger, nor did her cool response at their outrage:

"To all the supporters, lovers and haters ... thank you so much for the passion that you have for this project."

Though it was certainly more acceptable than posting a photo of Hunnam's Son of Anarchy tattoo, with the words "Guess Who..." typed beneath.

In light of recently dispelled rumors that Charlie Hunnam considered dropping out of the role after fan back lash, Producer Kurt Sutter stated in an interview with Vulture that the Pacific Rim star struggled with accepting the role, not because of the script or the sex, but the history and expectations surrounding the film. Sutter then said that he gave Hunnam the advice to look at the material, only, which led to the star accepting the role.

Matt Bomer, many fans' ideal choice had this to say when he was asked about 50 Shades of Grey:

"I'm so grateful for the fans and touched," Bomer told ETonline, exclusively. "I'm looking forward to seeing the movie with Charlie and Dakota."

And, some fans are starting to agree with Bomer, according to a number of social media sites.
