Fresh off the release of two new iPhones and a new operating system, iOS 7, Apple isn't finished.

The OS X Mavericks desktop operating system is going to be available this fall and Apple is hyping it up big time. The Apple website explains in detail from app to app. New Books, Maps, Calendars, Browser, and more updates are on the way. If the iOS 7 changes are any indication of what to expect in the OS X Mavericks operating system, we can predict a big time overhaul in the way we use our computers.

In addition to improving what is already available, Apple is boosting up the overall technology to make the OS X Mavericks the "most powerful OS X ever."

"With OS X Mavericks, your Mac works even smarter," Apple says. "Energy-saving technologies help you get more out of your battery, and performance-boosting technology brings you more speed and responsiveness. It's power wielded wisely."

Although Apple has not given an official release date besides the vague "coming this fall" description, it seems we are getting closer and closer as the operating system has already been released to developers. According to Mac Rumors, Apple is shooting for a late October release as the company works to train its employees on the specifics of the new operating system.

Another question that has been floating around the web is whether - or how much - the new operating system would cost. Some have pointed to previous years when operating systems would have a cost attached to it, but Apple has not announced any details about this yet.
