The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has yet to receive a full title from Marvel and producers. Will the sequel follow its predecessors and simply suffix the title with numbers? Or will it include a subtitle?

The Sam Raimi-directed smash hit trilogy, Spider-Man, has been among the biggest superhero film franchises ever, and it was what the new film series The Amazing Spider-Man had to follow. The Tobey Maguire-starred series came in three parts: Spider-Man 1, 2 and 3 - none of it having a subtitle. Now, Sony is thinking about whether to follow this lead or follow other Marvel films with subtitles. However, it seems like the studio is leaning towards the latter.

According to a report by Screen Rant, Sony is looking into placing a subtitle for the sequel that will hit theatres next year. A source has tipped the website that the production studio is already surveying people on which title would sound better.

Jeff White, the tipster, said that while at a screening of Captain Phillips at the Mall of America, two representatives from Sony's marketing department were asking the audience which title would go better for The Amazing Spider-Man sequel: "The Price of Power", "With Great Power" and another title he forgot.

So far, Sony has not confirmed any of the reports, but a quick look at a poll posted on ComicBookMovie.com and it seems like Spidey fans aren't too happy with the title options. In the poll also tipped in by White, asking which subtitle is best, the "Neither" option is at the top with 61.37% of all votes. "With Great Power" came next (29.18%), followed by "The Price of Power" with 9.44%.

While the official title of the film sequel is still underworks, fans can be assured though that the film will be packed with action, romance and chemistry.

"You have no idea how [well] the relationships work in this one.  That is what [Director Marc Webb] is masterful about; truly, truly, truly wonderful," The Amazing Spider-Man 2 composer Hans Zimmer told Collider.com. "And the movie just sort of sparkles whenever-because it could be so easily a movie driven by action, and it really is driven by charm and love and sparkling dialogue.  And the chemistry between the characters is fantastic."
