Rockstar Games is apologizing for its Grand Theft Auto V Online blunder by giving each user $500,000...in video game money, of course

Gamers were excited for the online version of Grand Theft Auto V, which was launched earlier this month. Instead, gamers were met with bugs, slow load times, glitches and lost games due to cloud-server errors.

Rockstar Games is offering its condolences by putting $500,000 dollars worth of GTA$ into the bank accounts of every loyal online user. The GTA$ will come in two deposits of $250,000 this month, with the first deposit arriving as early as next week.

"In order to keep the current worldwide in-game economy balanced, we will be providing this GTA$ to players via two deposits of $250,000," Rockstar Games said on its website. "...we hope this GTA$ helps to facilitate a fresh start or makes your continued life in Los Santos and Blaine County extra sweet."

Apparently, Grand Theft Auto makers could not keep up with the high number of users that logged on to steal virtual cars on the Internet. The online version of the game was available to anyone who purchased Grand Theft Auto V for PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360. The game has broken records for its high sales, making $1 billion its first three days on the shelves. Cown & Co., a Wall Street firm, estimates that the game sold 15 million copies its first week.

With these staggering numbers, it is hard to blame Rockstar for not being able to keep up. Kudos to them for remembering that virtual money makes every gamer happy.
