It looks like 2015 is showing a lot of promise for boxing fans.

Notable boxers such as Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao, Amir Khan, Timothy Bradley and Keith Thurman still don't have a scheduled fight for this year. While nearly every boxing fan in the world wants to see Mayweather face Pacquiao, that fight may have to wait.

Thurman wants to get in the ring with Mayweather, but increasing his pay-per-view numbers and win total look to be first on the menu for 2015.

Thurman recently spoke about the 28-year-old English boxer, Amir Khan.

"I think a lot of people underestimate my ability to box and punch at the same time. He's a good boxer, but he gets caught. He tends to open up and throw wide. Punchers throw wide, but when we connect, that's it. When he throws wide, we eat it. Skill-wise, I think I have all the skill and talent to dismantle Amir Khan in the same fashion or greater fashion than Danny Garcia." Thurman said.

"My real issue with Amir Khan in the welterweight division is ... he has yet to truly fight a real welterweight because Devon Alexander is -- they are really 140-pounders moving up to welterweight."

At 24-0-1, Thurman still hasn't lost a single fight in his professional career.

In his last fight, Thurman defeated Leonard Bundu. Although Thurman couldn't add another knockout to his resume, he once again conveniently took care of business. Thurman has repeatedly called out Mayweather for a potential fight and criticized Mayweather's inability to get knockouts.

Thurman has had choice words for Khan in the past. Just last month, Thurman said Khan was the most "overrated" welterweight boxer.

Khan has won his last four fights, and now has 30 career victories. Many boxing experts believe Mayweather will choose to face Khan in his next fight. That potential fight hardly shows any promise considering Khan has no real decisive victories on his portfolio, and both Thurman and Pacquiao would be a much more entertaining fight. Khan has been knocked out twice, once by Danny Garcia and another consisting of a first round knockout against Colombian Breidis Prescott in 2008.

There's no doubt Thurman has the power to compete with anyone in the welterweight division today. Keith "One Time" Thurman has a reputation of always going all out for the knockout punch and trying to end fights early. Before Thurman can get to Mayweather or Pacquiao, he would most likely have to face Khan, Bradley or possibly even Juan Manuel Márquez first. Maybe even a match against Marcos Maidana could be next for Thurman. Mayweather won't fight Maidana a third consecutive time, will he?

Thurman is certainly a young up-and-comer, maybe even the future of boxing. A potential fight with Khan would be a great opportunity for him (and Khan) to showcase his talents in front of everyone. A loss, however, would put a Mayweather dream fight on hold for quite some time.
