Some big names have suddenly come up in an otherwise quiet time leading up to the trade deadline in the NFL.

Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald's name went front and center this past weekend when ESPN insider Adam Schefter hinted towards a possible trade involving the veteran wideout. It was the first time we'd heard Fitzgerald's name after hearing the names of other wide receivers - such as Hakeem Nicks - pop up during trade talks in the last month or so.

"Larry Fitzgerald will be in play this off-season, in likely event a deal not completed before Tuesday's trade deadline," Schefter said on Twitter.

If the Cards do ship Fitzgerald, it could be a sign that the team no longer wants to handle the burden of the veteran's remaining five years of a contract that is worth $128.5 million. The move would also be an indication that the team's executives are not confident in the squad's ability to come back and make a late season playoff push.

Among other names that have come up in the trade talks (via SI) include Oakland's Darren McFadden as well as Jacksonville's Maurice Jones-Drew, who has seen a decrease in production but likely due to the Jaguars' terrible offensive unit. Potential playoff teams could look to add the players and rejuvenate their careers in a better place. In McFadden's case, the injuries have plagued the star in the early portion of his career, but like Jones-Drew, he might be able to do better in a different environment.

Although the NFL trade deadline seems to be summed up by plenty of talk and not much dealing, a move could be possible -- perhaps just not likely.
