Developers are working hard towards the next iPhone jailbreak -- or are they?

After Evad3rs developer Planetbeing initially tweeted with an update in the beginning of the month to let us know that the developers were "still working hard on the jailbreak" and that they "may have all the pieces at this point," another tweet has indicated otherwise.

Planetbeing retweeted a tweet from @skeels99 that jokingly said "working hard on a jailbreak!" with a photo attached to it featuring two people lounging by a pool in the sunlight. This could have been when all of the developers were abroad for a session on iOS hacking, but nonetheless it is still not reaffirming any hope of a jailbreak in the near future.

The lack of news about an update also disappoints many people who were expecting the jailbreak release to be simultaneous with the iPad release, which was last week. Following Apple's event last week, there was still no word about a jailbreak release date. The International Business Times suggested that we might see a release in October, but we are now less than a week away from November.

The developers hinted that they were being extra careful about giving a release date in case something were to disrupt their progress in the time leading up to the release, so this is understandably part of the reason we have not heard from them.

Apple has made it increasingly difficult for jailbreak developers to hack into the phone and through the operating system, so this is most likely another reason why we have seen such a delay.

Considering that a release would likely be announced at least several days - or weeks - in advance, we probably shouldn't expect anything anytime soon.
