Two-time Pro Bowl tight end Rob Gronkowski has grown in popularity since emerging as a top NFL player, but now he wants to be known for more than just football.

The Patriots star is looking to take part in a new animated TV show called "The Gronks," along with members of his family. He has two brothers in the NFL and they would be starring in the show as well.

The "Gronks" are apparently shopping the idea around right now and the group will get a feel for the market and the demand for the show.

According to Deadspin, the cartoon show would be "lightly fictionalized."

"One name supposedly interested in co-writing the project with the Gronkowskis is longtime TV writer Ricky Blitt," Deadspin's Barry Petchesky said. "If it comes to fruition, the New England synergy will be off the charts: Blitt is a co-executive producer on Family Guy, while both Penzi and Carmona have worked with Mark Wahlberg, with Penzi coming across like a real-life turtle."

Rob Gronkowski's biggest season was in 2011 when he broke the single season record for touchdowns by a tight end. This season Gronkowski just recently returned from an injury and he has now played in the team's last two games. He caught eight passes for over 100 yards against the Jets on Oct. 20 but was held to only two grabs for 27 yards against the Miami Dolphins a week later.

The first-place Patriots return to action this Sunday when they will host the Pittsburgh Steelers in Foxboro.
