Gaby Spanic portrayed twins Paola and Paulina in the 1998 telenovela "La Usurpadora." Though the show was remade in 2012, there are rumors there will be a new version.

"Suelta La Sopa" caught up with actress and singer Spanic to ask her what she thought about a possible "La Usurpadora" remake.

"Haven't they already made one?" Spanic said.

Reporter Luis Magaña explained that in this new version could star Eiza Gonzalez, Anahi, Dulce Maria or Ludwika Paleta. Spanic said she had no idea that this was happening.

"Oh, they are all so pretty and professional," she said of the women. "I hope the best one wins the role."

Spanic added that if the role were offered to her she would gladly take it. In 1998, she played two twins separated at birth. The nice twin, Paulina, grew up poor and was in a relationship with a man who cheated on her. The evil twin, Paola, was privileged and cheated on her husband.

Paola persuades Paulina to switch places with her for a year so that she can go on a year-long vacation with her lover. Paulina ends up falling in love with Paola's husband.

Recently, Angelique Boyer addressed rumors that she would be playing the twins. Though Boyer has experience playing both villains and heroines, she did not want to take on the role.

"I saw it, and I loved it," she said to "Hoy," according to Rotativo. "It really was a great melodrama. I remember it perfectly, but it was just repeated. I think that there needs to be time between stories before you come back to them again and well, for an actress, I think it's a dream to do a character like that."

Boyer was 9 years old when the show aired.
