Aside from their uber good looks and angelic voices, is there anything else the lads of One Direction have been keeping up their sleeves? Apparently, there is. In their upcoming studio album, the boys are not only singing but also writing their own songs.

Midnight Memories will probably be the most special album the 1D boys would have released. Their third studio record, MM will not only feature a more mature sound for them, but will also feature their songwriting skills. As a matter of fact, Savan Kotecha, who has been working as a songwriter for the lads since Up All Night, revealed that the boys - specifically, Harry Styles - are awesome writers.

Replying to a fan tweet, Savan tweeted: "I'm excited for everyone to hear it! @Harry_Styles is one hell of a writer! :-)"

Entertainment Wise reports that one of the songs written by the boys for the album is "Right Now" which was penned by Harry, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson, together with songwriter/ band frontman/ producer Ryan Tedder.

Notably, One Direction's manager and SYCO records main man, Simon Cowell, also commended the boys' participation in the entire production process of Midnight Memories.

"They had a lot more to do with the - the writing, the choosing of the songs - so they've matured as a band," the X Factor judge explained. "I think everyone's going to like it...it's a great album."

"They're involved in every step of it, [from] the lyrics down to the mix," Julian Bunetta, producer of the single "Best Song Ever", also noted.

Aside from Harry's killer writing skills, Niall Horan will also be playing the guitar in the record.

Niall revealed on Twitter that fans may hear "someone you know on guitar occasionally! :)"

Midnight Memories will soon drop in stores on November 25.
