New "American Idol" judge Harry Connick Jr. doesn't think the show is as hellish as former judge Mariah Carey does.

Recently, Carey appeared on Hot 97, a New York radio station, where she detailed her experience as a judge on the last season on Fox's reality singing competition show.

"Honestly, I thought it was gonna be a three-person panel," Carey said. "They gave me a nice dangling monetary moment."

Carey's bickering with co-judge Nicki Minaj was arguably the most memorable aspect of Carey's only season with "Idol."

"It was like going to work every day in hell with Satan," Carey said. "Nah, I'm just playing. It didn't affect me that much."

First time judge Connick, on the other hand, has yet to notice any flames or devils during his season on "American Idol."

"@MariahCarey - Must've been hard to judge in hell. Idol XIII: Welcome to heaven!" Connick said via Twitter.

Still, the ever-so-polite judge made sure to show his respect for the diva.

"btw, i LOVE @MariahCarey !!! no hate for that sweet lady - i just feel bad that she didn't have what we have - the best @AmericanIdol ever!" Connick added via Twitter.

In addition to the hellish atmosphere, Carey also said that she felt bad for some of the contestants.

"I was disappointed. I loved the contestants," Carey said. "Some of them were so good and also really good people, you could tell. It was disappointing that...for political reasons they would not put people through."

The angelic 13th season of "American Idol" will premiere on Jan. 15 and Jan. 16 with two-hour-long episodes at 8 p.m. on Fox.
