Physicians at Emory Hospital in Atlanta have reportedly removed the breathing tube from the mouth of Bobbi Kristina Brown.

RadarOnline reports doctors performed the procedure on Tuesday, at which time they also performed a tracheotomy on the only daughter born to Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown. If she survives, the website added, the performed procedure might prevent her from ever speaking again.

A source told RadarOnline that doctors decided to remove the 21-year-old Brown's breathing tube because of "complications" and "then do a tracheotomy and put a tube in that way."

"She is still alive," the source added. "Everyone is praying for her. She is young and she is strong. At the same time, everybody knows that she remains in a critical conditions, but there is no talk at this point about 'pulling the plug.'"

Bobbi Kristina Brown has laid comatose and in a medically induced coma for more than two weeks now after she was found faced down in a bathtub full of water by boyfriend Nick Gordon in the Roswell home the couple shared together.

Earlier this week, reports surfaced that Brown was suffering organ failure, and family members were growing more afraid that they end could be near. Bobby Brown has kept a regular vigil at his daughter's bedside since she became hospitalized, reports say.

Police have since launched a criminal investigation into the incident in which Gordon is thought to be the primary target after Brown's body was found to have several unexplained bruises and injuries. Family members have banned him from visiting her at the hospital.

Bobbi Kristina Brown was stricken almost exactly three years after the lifeless body of her superstar mother was pulled from a bathtub at a Beverly Hills hotel where she was staying. Investigators later determined Whitney Houston had drugs in her system at the time of her death.
