Controversial Southern TV chef Paula Deen is set to make her return to the airwaves with a new daily radio show and weekly podcast.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Deen will soon be playing host to the "Get Cooking with Paula Deen" radio show and the "What's Cooking with Paula Deen" podcast.

Other than through the subscription based online network she launched in September of 2014, Deen has rarely appeared on the airwaves since becoming embroiled in a race-tinged scandal beginning in late 2013.

Back then, several media outlets reported about a deposition Deen once gave during which she used the N-word and made several antisemitic references. The deposition came as part of the court proceedings in a workplace discrimination suit brought against Deen by two former African-American workers.

During the actual proceedings, Deen admitted under oath that she had previously used the N-word and once joked that she had an interest in seeing black waiters dressed to look like "slaves" while working as servers at a wedding. Deen added she got the idea from something she saw at a restaurant she and her husband once dined at.

"The whole entire waiter staff was middle-aged black men, and they had on beautiful white jackets with a back bow tie," she said. "I mean, it was really impressive. That restaurant represented a certain era in America ... after the Civil War, during the Civil War, before the Civil war ... it was not only black men, it was black women. I would say they were slaves."

Deen's latest venture is created in conjunction with Compass Media Networks and is set to debut on May 1.

In a statement, Deen added that her listeners will regularly be provided with short segments aimed at aiding them in "both the kitchen and life."
