Eloise Mumford has joined the cast of the Fifty Shades of Grey movie.

Variety reports that Mumford will play Kate Kavanagh, one of the last major roles left in the film adaptation of E.L. James' erotic novel. Kate Kavanagh is the roommate of the female lead Anastasia Steele, who will be played by Dakota Johnson.

Mumford, 27, is known for her roles in in "The River" and So Undercover.

According to Variety, casting Kate Kavanagh was a high priority for the producers of Fifty Shades of Grey until Charlie Hunnam dropped out as Christian Grey and all attention was re-focused on finding his replacement (Jamie Dornan).

Since the casting mishap, things on the Fifty Shades of Grey set seem to have calmed down with most of the major roles cast. "Pride and Prejudice's" Jennifer Ehle will play Anastasia's mother. Meanwhile, Victor Rasuk has been cast as Jose, a photographer who dreams of making romantic Kodak moments with Anastasia, and Luke Grimes will play Elliot, Christian's brother. There are still a few roles that need to be filled including Christian's bodyguard. Rumor has it that Katie Holmes has her eye on one of the cast's last spots.

Sam Taylor-Johnson will direct the Focus Features and Universal Pictures movie. The script was written by Kelly Marcel. Michael De Luca, Dana Brunetti and James herself will produce.

Filming for Fifty Shades of Grey begins on Dec 2. The film will be released just in time for Valentine's Day on Feb. 13, 2015.
