Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. believes he will score an easy victory against Gennady Golovkin if their long-proposed showdown happens in the near future.

Chavez said in an interview with Fighthype that he sees nothing special in Golovkin despite having a perfect 32-0 record with 29 knockouts. The Mexican said that Golovkin has the power to knock opponents out, but he believes it is not enough for him to be intimidated of the unbeaten champion.

"He's a good boxer, has a lot of condition, throws a lot of punches. He doesn't have the speed of Pacquiao or Mayweather. The only thing I see is the power," Chavez said of Golovkin. "I don't see anything special in the skills. He's a tough guy, very strong guy, good power, but I don't see anything special."

Chavez, who has recored 48 wins with 32 knockouts against just one draw and one defeat in his career, added that he is more interested in facing Carl Froch than Golovkin.

But if they eventually cross path later this year, the former world middleweight champion said that he could even knock Golovkin out, which was the reason why he challenged the 32-year-old Kazakh to a $1 million bet for a knockout win.

"I put one million dollars. He puts a million dollars. If he knocks me out, he wins the two million. If I knock him out, I win the two million," said Chavez, who insisted that he is not afraid of Golovkin's vaunted punching power. "If he or I win a decision, nobody wins the two million. It's ok, and it's good for boxing."

Golovkin and Chavez was supposed to face each other last year, but the Mexican boxing star had a dispute with Top Rank Promotions, who has a pending lawsuit against the 29-year-old.

Chavez is scheduled to face Andrzej Fonfara in a 12-round non-title fight on April 18 at StubHub Center in Carson, California. Should he win, talks about his possible clash with Golovkin are expected to intensify.

Golovkin, the reigning World Boxing Association and International Boxing Organization middleweight champion, successfully defended his world titles against Martin Murray last month in Monte Carlo, Monaco.

Golovkin floored Murray twice in Round 4 and once in Round 10 before eventually knocking his opponent out for good in the 11th round, which gave him his 19th consecutive knockout victory.
