Tiger Woods finished up his 2013 campaign with a playoff loss to Zach Johnson, but this year it seems like the world famous golfer is ready for a break.

"I've come off long breaks, I've come off surgeries, whatever it may be," Woods said. "I've had my share of offseasons, and I can tell you one thing, I'm looking forward to this one."

Woods enjoyed a successful year and also juggled plenty of other things at the same time, such as injuries as well as the media coverage of his new relationship with Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn.

The 17-year veteran completed his fifth consecutive season without a major championship, but this year marked a nice turnaround for Woods nevertheless. He still managed to pull out five wins and has rebounded as a more consistent golfer.

"I'm very proud of my overall record, especially in the bigger events," Woods said. "I think my world golf record is pretty decent."

Woods will get back on the saddle in six weeks when he continues his schedule at the Farmers Inusrance Open and his recent opponents think that he will be just fine down the stretch.

"He's the one that keeps pushing the ceiling higher and he's the one who keeps raising the bar," Johnson said. "If he stays healthy -- and hopefully he does -- there's no telling what he can do. The guy never ceases to amaze me."

In other news related to Woods, his girlfriend is gearing up for the Sochi Winter Olympics in February despite re-injuring part of her surgically repaired leg. She says she will put off surgery until after the Olympics since she has felt great during recent practices on the slopes.

"I know that I'm skiing well so I don't need to push myself and push the limits to race as many races for Sochi. I'm ready for Sochi," Vonn said on Sunday. "I don't need to do a lot, just a couple more starts. But I really want to focus on Sochi and take the risk away from any long-term damage on my knee."
