Is Miley Cyrus trying to steal the thunder from her idol Britney Spears? Miley will be hosting the opening of Beacher's Madhouse Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino on Dec. 27. Guess what else is happening that Friday night? Britney's much-anticipated Vegas residency show at Planet Hollywood!

Britney has been working super hard on her Piece of Me Vegas show which she has been promoting right along with the release of her Britney Jean album. This Sunday, Dec. 22nd Britney is even unveiling a new two-hour documentary on E! called "I am Britney Jean".  The program will consist of a behind the scenes look at rehearsals and how Britney prepares for the "toughest" show of her career. In a promotional clip Britney asks, "I'm really nervous. What if I blank out and just stand there?" Like you did during that fatal VMA performance in 2011? Oh my gosh I wish it would just disappear. While Britney puts her heart and soul into this show, her "protégé" Miley Cyrus might be stealing her light. Miley has announced that she will be hosting the opening of Beacher's Madhouse Las Vegas (same place where Miley had her 21st birthday in L.A) a few miles away from Brit's big debut that same night.

The "Party in the USA" singer is the perfect host of the opening event. She is the hottest pop star out right now, even being saluted by her idol Britney Spears whom she also collabarated with on her album Bangerz. The Beacher's Vegas is a 8,500-suare-foot space, challenging the size of the Planet Hollywood venue which Britney will be performing. Confidential reported back in October that Britney has expressed "displeasure with the Planet Hollywood venue" saying Brit was "immediately unhappy about the size and shape of the stage".

Even though Britney Spears has one of the most biggest and loyal fan base, with Miley in town at an opening of a larger venue, Spears might loose some attendees. Britney has not commented on this news but we're sure she might be feeling just a bit worried about her big show having some competition now. We will have to see who wins this battle; the Britney Spears of this generation or the actual Britney Spears? Isn't that an ironic and confusing analogy to think about?
