The NFL race is intensifying now more than ever and 14 of the 16 games this weekend will feature playoff implications.

In the AFC, the Patriots and Ravens are facing off in what could is arguably the game of the week. The defending Super Bowl Champions have developed quite a rivalry with their New England counterparts and this year proves to be no different. A Patriots win will give New England yet another division title while a Baltimore victory would mean a playoff berth for the Ravens as long as the Dolphins and Chargers both falter in Week 16.

Also in the AFC, the Colts and Chiefs are matching up and the playoff implications with this game are quite complicated. The Chiefs could finish ahead of the Colts in the AFC playoff picture but as of now the Colts hold the edge. Indy is the only team to clinch a division title so far and technically they are still in the race for the number one seed -- and so are the Chiefs -- who could be as low as a Wild Card.

In the NFC, the very surprising Arizona Cardinals are hoping to cut into the Seahawks' division lead when the two teams face off this week. Although the Cardinals have an impressive record this season, the team's playoff hopes are only hanging on by a thread while the Seahawks have run roughshod throughout the NFL.

The Bears and Eagles are also highlighting this week's schedule with a key NFC matchup. Both teams lead their respective divisions and this game is about as head to head as it gets. The winner would have a smooth ride towards the number three seed in the NFC.

In other games, the Broncos can clinch the AFC West AND a first round bye with a win and a Chiefs loss while Denver can clinch home field with a Chiefs and Patriots loss. The Broncos will face the lowly Houston Texans in Week 16.

Another intriguing matchup this weekend is with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Green Bay Packers. The Steelers somehow have a slim chance at making the playoffs but the more interesting situation is in Green Bay, where the Packers can clinch the NFC North with a win this weekend and next. These are all big ifs, but this game will go a long way in determining who will live on and who will go home.

In Detroit, the New York Giants are looking to play the spoiler role this weekend. The Lions need to win to even stay in the playoff hunt; a loss would boot them out of the picture. However, a win and Bears and Packers loss would give the Lions the chance to win the division next week.

The 49ers and Falcons are also facing each other this weekend in what seems to be a lopsided matchup but, as we know, these games do tend to become a tossup at the end of the year. San Fran can lock up a playoff berth with a win.

The Dolphins are facing the Bills, but Buffalo is going to show up firing on all cylinders knowing that they could spoil their division rival's playoff hopes. The Dolphins control their own destiny and will make the playoffs if they win out.

The Vikings and Bengals are squaring off in an interconference matchup but both teams have serious playoff implications. Both teams are in with a win and a little help.

One other important game to watch this weekend is Dallas vs. Washington. The Cowboys are in if they win out, but they're out if they lose this weekend.
