Wheezy, who produced eight tracks on Young Thug's latest project "Barter 6," has discussed the recent "Carter 6" controversy between his collaborator and Lil Wayne.

In an interview with Complex, the Atlanta producer first explained his stage name, which is off by just one letter from the New Orleans emcee's nickname, Weezy. He revealed that he originally wanted "Weezy" but changed it, "once a lot of people started feeling like I was affiliated with other rappers."

The beat maker then shared his opinion on the recent feud between Wayne and Thugger, who initially named his record "Carter 6" before alleged legal threat.

"My take on the situation is that Thug and Wayne are in two different lanes: Thug is a rising star and Lil Wayne is an icon," he said. "Both should make more music [together]."

Wheezy then made it clear that there is no bad blood between him and the "Believe Me" hitmaker.

"I would like to work with Wayne in the near future. Nothing but up from here, you dig?" he added.

Meanwhile, Lil Tunechi's longtime producer, Mannie Fresh, recently detailed the highly anticipated "Tha Carter V" album.

In an interview with Montreality, the former Cash Money in-house beat maker insisted he does not know exactly when Wayne will release his much delayed 11th studio effort. He explained that the team is still waiting to see what happens next with the record.

But Fresh revealed what fans can expect from Weezy's upcoming LP, saying it will sound like the first installment of "Tha Carter" series, Wayne's fourth studio record.

"We kind of went back to that original Cash Money feel, what you grew up on, the Mannie Fresh sound that you knew Wayne and Mannie did. Chemistry," he added. "It's more of the original."
