Michael Nylander, father of the NHL Toronto Maple Leafs' first-round pick in last year's draft, William Nylander, has listed his Greenwich Estate for $3.15M, Realtor.com reported.

Reports indicated he could be following his son to Toronto and guide him more in his game. Why not? The older Nylander was a professional NHL hockey center player since 1992 until retiring in 2009.

A Charming Home in Greenwich

The 3,630-square-foot Connecticut property contains five bedrooms, a renovated kitchen, a spacious front porch and a lovely curb appeal.

The home resting on half-acre lot, also displays several notable architectural details such as an open floor area, a Colonial-inspired theme, large living areas, modern interiors and wooden flooring.

Another charm of this home of the former NHL athlete is its setting. It is said to be just near the center of the town and yet it can still offer one's much needed privacy. If you like sand and seawater, you can just go straight to a nearby beach. Outside, there's an expansive rear yard for exciting sport activities or even parties.

Based on the photos, any guest will feel a natural liking to the quaint-looking gray and white home standing proud amid carefully-manicured grounds. The simple color motif makes the home humble, but very accommodating too, as it gives a cozy and the right homey feel of a traditional neighborhood.

If you take a look inside, you will be greeted with contrasting colors of dark hard wooden flooring against very immaculate-looking ceilings and walls. The Greenwich home just further looked pristine, but not intimidating at the same time.

In the kitchen, there's a central island that serves as a large working station while cooking. It also encourages camaraderie in the family as they prepare dishes each one will enjoy. There are also lots of cabinets in the kitchen to serve as storage for plates or recipe ingredients.

The site notes that the real estate agent who handles the listing is Julie Church, a known salesperson in the Greenwich area.

Michael's Highlights

See clips from Michael's highlights as a New York Ranger, with his teammates Martin Straka and Jaromir Jagr. Together, the Straka-Nylander-Jagr trio served as one of the greatest Rangers' lines and also considered by many fans "deadliest line" during their time.

William Nylander's Development

Meanwhile, the younger Nylander is currently playing for the Toronto Marlies. Although the Maple Leafs' picked William last year, the team lets him play first in the American Hockey League with the Marlies so that he could develop his craft some more before he plays with the Leafs, National Post reported.

Is his performance getting better? The Marlies head coach Gord Dineen thinks so.

"He's driving the game.Definitely, his puck management has been better. He's not forcing plays anymore. If the play is there, he's making it and he's shooting the puck more. I think it's giving him more options because teams knew he was a team-first guy and now he's shooting more and they have to respect that," Dineen told the reporters in March.
