While fans are anxiously awaiting her eighth studio album "R8," Rihanna recently made an impromptu visit to Cuba -- presumably to film a new music video.

According to The San Diego Union-Tribune, the Barbadian singer, who is not subject to U.S. restrictions on travel to the communist island, certainly shocked fans by cruising down Havana's Malecon shore boulevard in a classic American convertible on Friday.

Ernesto Blanco, the owner of Restaurante-Paladar La Fontana, revealed to The Telegraph that Rihanna arrived in Cuba "on the fly, as we Cubans say" on Wednesday night.

During her unscheduled appearance, the "American Oxygen" crooner had a blast, munching on local cuisine and dancing to "classic Cuban music" provided by the eatery's in-house band, according to online magazine OnCuba's Facebook page.

Cuban state media also claimed that RiRi was seen recording what appeared to be her upcoming visual in the capital's central district of El Vedado and at the La Guarida restaurant.

The "B***h Better Have My Money" singer also opted for a photo shoot with famed photographer, Annie Leibovitz.

Meanwhile, Rihanna might go back to her Caribbean roots for "R8."

According to The Fader, producer and founder of Mixpak Records, DJ Dre Skull, recently revealed that the "Diamonds" hitmaker has been contacting several dancehall reggae artists to collaborate with on her highly anticipated record.

"I know firsthand and secondhand that she's been reaching out to a lot of people in the dancehall world," he said.

However, Skull explained that RiRi's latest project would not entirely be dancehall: "I'm not suggesting it's gonna be [a dancehall album] but [her people] are excited about dancehall and to work in that sort of context."

The Brooklyn native, who is in charge of the label that has Vybz Kartel as its client, then claimed the "FourFiveSeconds" crooner team reached out to one dancehall artist in particular.

"They've reached out to Popcaan, but I've talked to a number of people in Jamaica that they've reached out to," he added. "I'm not suggesting that I know what will happen, but I do know they've talked to a bunch of artists that I know."
