“Hit-Girl” might come to production soon, especially after “Kick-Ass” got a lot of praise for its uniquely "irreverent take" on the superhero movie genre, as pointed out by Screen Rant. Plus, among the film’s characters, one of the franchise’s highest and most memorable points was the breakout character of Hit-Girl, which was portrayed by Chloe Grace Moretz.

Hit-Girl’s popularity among fans was spectacular, prompting “Kick-Ass” creators John Romita, Jr. and Mark Millar to come up with a spinoff film solely focused on Moretz’s comic character.

Sadly, despite the good reviews that the “Kick-Ass” franchise received in general, the reception to “Kick-Ass 2” was a bit lukewarm. That said, it remains unclear whether or not “Kick-Ass 3,” which will turn out as the spinoff “Hit-Girl” movie, will actually move forward. Thankfully, Millar wants to push through with the film.

“I love the idea of there being ‘Hit-Girl’ movies,” Millar told JoBlo. “It has to be the right story, though. We have a crazy idea for it. And, every now and then, I think, ‘Is this too crazy?’ because it is, kind of, insane. ‘Would the world accept this?’”

“It makes ‘Kick-Ass’ look like ‘Finding Nemo,’” he added. “Matthew Vaughn and I have chatted about it in the pub – it is fine in the pub. But, when we are being interviewed two years later, is it going to be terrifying? So, I do not know. It seems a fun thing, though.”

Hit-Girl’s concept was actually a bit pre-dated by nearly a full year from the other heroine characters that are famous today, such as Katniss Everdeen from “The Hunger Games.” “Those kinds of things came along,” Millar added. “And, now – I feel is a great time for her. So, it could be really interesting.”

Unfortunately for those who are looking forward to a “Hit-Girl” movie, Millar’s relatively dark humor has made it still up for debate. It is possible that a lot of the “Kick-Ass” fans have already cooled on the possibility of having a third installment for the franchise, which the report from Screen Rant has largely blamed on Millar’s “insane” plans for Hit-Girl’s character.

Plus, Millar, himself, was unsure of making a third film last year. he told Comic Book Resources that he did “not know” for sure if they were going to push through with “Kick-Ass 3,” which would have been the “Hit-Girl” spinoff. “It is definitely up in the air,” he said at the time. “We will just have to see.”
