The alleged budding romance between 'The Legend of Hercules' star Kellan Lutz and 'Wrecking Ball' singer Miley Cyrus is nothing but a comical rumor - at least to Hercules himself!

The two were spotted leaving together in a private jet December 17 in Miami. They crossed paths again on the 27th at the opening party of Beacher's Madhouse in Las Vegas.

Since then, a photo of the two have been circulating online along with several write-ups of the two's romantic relationship. Now all those reports will be slammed false by no other than Kellan.

The actor has told 'Today' show that he and Miley are not an item.

"Do you see that picture?" he asked.

"I mean, why would you assume that someone was dating (from that)? Miley and I have been friends ... it's comical for me. I'm a public figure, she's a public figure, I've been friends with her for six years and we're in the same circle.... I'm dating everyone these days, let's just start that rumor!"

Though the actor has outright denied any romantic link with the 'Wrecking Ball' singer, Kellan did admit that he and Miley are old pals in a report by E! Online.

"She's an amazing girl and she has a great head on her shoulders.

I love hanging out with her because she is who she is and she's such a shining star. I'm just focused on work but I'm happy to be friends with her."

This isn't the first time that Kellan has been falsely linked to a single lady in the industry.

"When two people are single in the industry, they'll crop out pictures - I just saw one with Michelle Rodriguez and I where, she's on one end of the photo, I'm on the other - they put us together," he said in a report by People.

Kellan Lutz plays Hercules in 'The Legend of Hercules' slated to hit theatres January 10.
