For those expecting to get spoilers about how the beloved series “Downton Abbey” will end, fans have to wait as it has not been written.

During a discussion at the Writers Guild Theater, series creator Julian Fellowes told audiences that “I haven’t even written it.”

He added, “It will be funny when each character is finished, and they say, ‘And that’s the last of Mrs. Patmore or whatever.’ That’s always a strange moment -- even on an ordinary movie or one-off job -- when people who have been all through it start to peel away.”

Fellowes added that there were 11 more weeks to go in production and the shooting schedule was in the final home stretch.

The event also saw Hugh Bonneville and cast members Laura Carmichael and Elizabeth McGovern. While the cast was rather quiet in terms of spoilers, Bonneville spoke about the process of working on the final season and the amount of time they still have left to film.

However, Bonneville stated that he had no idea how the series will end. He said, “I haven’t read the series finale.”

“Downton Abbey” is currently midway through a six-month shoot. The final season is set to air in the fall in the U.K. and will conclude on Christmas Day. However, the U.S will have to wait until next year when the series premieres in January PBS in their Masterpiece Theatre banner.

"Downton Abbey" chronicles the lives of the Crawley family and their servants, beginning in the years leading up to World War I. The show also stars Maggie Smith, Lily James, Jessica Brown Findlay, Michelle Dockery and Dan Stevens.

Ever since the show aired in 2010 it has become popular and has gone on to win Golden Globes, Emmys, BAFTAs, SAG awards and PGA awards
