Gwen Stefani is set to rejoin "The Voice" in her role as one of the coaches during the show's upcoming ninth season.

Entertainment Weekly reports that with Christina Aguilera slated to take a break, the 45-year-old "Hollaback Girl" singer is poised to join fellow coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and Pharrell Williams.

"I'm coming back and am so excited. I can't believe I get to return to "The Voice," she said in a press release. "It's so inspiring to be around such incredible talent and music. I'm looking forward to working again with Adam, Blake and Pharrell. I love those guys."

The new season kicks off in September and will mark Stefani's second with the show. According to HollywoodLife, between now and then, there could be an even great change for the competition show.

Show execs are now rumored to be recruiting Justin Bieber to join the cast in a similar capacity. The 21-year-old would be the show's youngest coach ever and more than 15 years younger than the average age of last year's crew.

The website adds while the last season was acclaimed for some of the masterful performances turned in by the contestants, the ratings were sort of a disappointment, which is where show executives hope Bieber's appeal might prove valuable.

"This last season of 'The Voice' had its finale be the least rated ever and Mark Burnett has taken notice," a source told Hollywood Life. "He wants to mix it up to get ratings up and get younger viewers to watch the show." The first thing the producers plan to do is change up the judging lineup."

Over the years, Usher and Shakira have also starred as coaches on the show.
