"Once Upon a Time" has promoted actors Rebecca Mader and Sean Maguire to series regulars for its upcoming fifth season, Entertainment Weekly reports.

Mader, who plays the Wicked Witch Zelena, first appeared on the show during Season 3. Maguire's character Robin Hood was also featured on season 3 as a replacement for Tom Ellis, who originally took on the Robin Hood role during the show's second season.

Zelena's more permanent position on the show follows her murder brought on by Rumple in Season 3, EW reports.

Despite her death, "Once Upon a Time" producers revived Zelena's character by having her travel back in time and take on the appearance of Robin Hood's late wife Marian, played by Christie Laing.

In addition to showcasing more of Zelena and Robin Hood in Season 5, TVLine reports that "Once Upon a Time" producers will also give viewers more of Merlin and will introduce characters King Arthur and Guinevere. News of Zelena and Robin Hood's permanent roles on the show comes on the heels of the "Once Upon a Time" creators' decision to expand Red Riding Hood's story by releasing an upcoming novel about her life as a child.

The novel is titled "Red's Untold Tale" and it is written by Wendy Toliver, the Hollywood Reporter reports.

It explores Red's life at the age of 16, and the obstacles she has faced to become the Red that is featured in the ABC series.

The producers of "Once Upon a Time" released a statement via THR about the upcoming novel that reads, "Plagued by nightmares she doesn't understand and a temper she can't control, 16-year-old Red struggles to save Granny's troubled business and to nurture her budding romance with Peter, even as the betrayal of her classmates awakens the wolf within."

With the release of this upcoming novel, "Once Upon a Time" producers hope to bring new life into the Red character and provide fans with more knowledge on who she is and what sparked some of her motives.

"Red's Untold Tale" will be released on Sept. 22.
