Leave it to LeBron to cause a stir with a simple birthday message.

Miami Heat fans are now more anxious than ever as LeBron James fuels the fire that he may be saying goodbye to Miami Heat through a cryptic message to teammate Dwayne Wade over Instagram.

Yahoo reports that while James, Wade and Chris Bosh each set to make a cool $ 20 million for the next season, this July 2014, all three of the Heat's heavy hitters could opt out of their contracts this season.

On Friday, James greeted his 32-year old teammate D-Wade happy birthday over Instagram, which led social media in a frenzy over what his message could mean.

"Happy Bday to my running mate, homie, brother, and most of all straight up friend! The friendship we've created our rookie year at pre draft camp was pure and that's why we stuck together from that point on! Obviously didn't know we would eventually become teammates and do the things we've done so far."

James continues, "I came to Miami for 2 reasons. To play with U and to win championships and I can't thank u enough for the sacrifice you've made since I arrived homie!" said James. "No matter what happens in the future we stuck together like brothers for life."

James then ended by calling Wade, "old as dirt!"

Aside from opting out, James, who's a four-time NBA Most Valuable Player joined Miami in 2010 when he chose to leave the Cleveland Caviliers, could also opt out of contract and re-sign with the Heat for more money.

The Miami Herald writes that James explained that the message to Wade was "more focused on our friendship and where life can take us and that's what it all comes down to. We're connected at the hip no matter where our lives take us. Happy birthday to D-Wade."

To date, James has not officially addressed his potential free agency since the beginning of training camp last October. The only statement made by James has been his focus on winning championships in Miami but has not given a clear indication of his decision on his Miami contract. ESPN noted that there has speculation that James might consider a return to Cleveland, but James has offered few hints about his future.
