Subaru is coming out with a high performance version of the Impreza called the WRX STi which produces a wild amount of power (305 horsepower) from a small engine. The debut at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show will be a must-see for car aficionados because in addition to Subaru several car companies are displaying including other major US brands as well as German and Japanese.

Following the previous versions of Subaru impreza vehicle series, the Subaru production company has revealed its intention in releasing a new Subaru impreza model. This vehicle is expected to have many improvements in engine output as well as an all-wheel-drive system to give it an edge in handling dynamics.

Subaru will make 1000 special edition versions in the classic blue and gold paint combination, which come on all the Subaru rally cars. The other feature is a rear spoiler mimicking the race car version, giving the sedan a performance-oriented sports car look.

We got a peek at the WRX STi in concept form last year at the New York Auto Show. Take a look back and see how the design evolved from idea to production model.

The WRX STi appeared in concept form last year at the New York Auto Show. According to Forbes, this is the "rally-race-inspired version of Subaru's new WRX sedan, which is based on the Impreza. It is a cult car whose halo effect boosts the mild-mannered Japanese automaker's corporate image."

Motorsports rallying is a positive experience for those with a passion for vehicles. For some time now, two of the most known Japanese motor dealers - Mitsubishi and Subaru - have made major impacts in the world of sport racing.

Mitsubishi is a well-known producer of luxury, sports, rally and muscle vehicles which has posed a serious competitive threat to the Subaru products but hopefully this new release of the impreza series will trigger an immense effort of competition in the sporting arena.

The consensus seems to be that it will be a good performer and one of the faster vehicles on the tarmac or speedway.
