Xbox One gamers can now play their favorite titles on a Windows desktop or tablet, thanks to the new streaming feature Microsoft added to the upcoming Windows 10.

The Redmond-based tech company has yet to officially launch its latest operating system, but the avid gamers have already discovered that the streaming service has gone live ahead of its release date.

Microsoft announced on its Windows blog last Friday, July 17, that the Xbox One streaming service has come out of preview and is now available to the public ahead of the operating system's launch. The decision to do so at an earlier time was done in preparation for the release date.

The new streaming service feature was announced in January as part of the exciting things to come to Windows 10 as Microsoft tries to increase its following in a market that has since embraced OS X.

Before the streaming service was made available to the public, it ran on a special preview version of the Xbox One dashboard, reported PC World. However, the tech firm decided to give every Windows user a chance to test it out and has now made it accessible to anyone running on the latest Windows 10 build (build 10240).

On July 8, Xbox released an update on its system to pave way for the arrival of the streaming service as well as the backward compatibility of the Xbox 360 in the current generation console.

Meanwhile, the tech firm announced that the Xbox app on Windows 10 will automatically update to the version 7.7.16004.00000 or higher to be able to enjoy the streaming service.

It must be noted that users must also enable the streaming services on both the gaming console and PC to access it. Players can simply head to the settings and preferences tab on their Xbox One and tick "Allow game streaming to other devices."

For the Xbox One app on the Windows 10, users can open the app and tick the "Connect" icon. After which, gamers will type in their console's IP address to link the Xbox One to the PC.

A list of available games can already be seen at the drop down menu of the app in Windows 10 and Microsoft has announced that more games will arrive soon.

According to Gamerant, "Minecraft: Windows 10" and MOBA "League of Legends" are already available for streaming.

Aside from the streaming service, the Redmond-based company also revealed that more features will come to the Xbox app throughout the month of July. Some of the upcoming features include a dedicated Xbox Live app, support for older gaming titles as well as the ability to upload and share game clips to fellow gamers.

Windows 10 will officially launch on July 29.
