Samsung has yet to officially announce its upcoming flagship phablet, the Galaxy Note 5, but the Internet has been abuzz with rumors and reports about the flagship device. Photos of the unit's hardware and rumored "S Pen" have leaked online, which further fueled interest in the latest gadget.

According to Pocket Now, an image has been circulating online, which showed a prototype of the Samsung Galaxy S5. The photo showed a device that comes in a rather square and bulky hardware.

The website was quick to clarify that the photo is not the actual design of the upcoming phablet but rather a prototype, also called as "mule" of the Korean device.

The hardware makes it easy for tests to be done on the software and specs of the phone without revealing its actual design features.

The photo that can be seen online came from the Czech Republic where it was reported that the Korean tech giant is testing the upcoming Galaxy Note 5's compatibility with Czech network carriers.

However, GSM Arena pointed out that the screen quality of the image seems to be off.

Initial reports from the rumor mill stated that Samsung is finally going for a 5.7-inch QHD Super AMOLED screen for its Note 5. However, the photo showed a unit with a screen that has low resolution and quality, hardly what the Korean company is aiming for.

Samsung has yet to comment on the photo and it remains to be seen whether the image is actually a prototype for the upcoming phablet or just a fake intended to keep the market abuzz about the Note 5.

Meanwhile, another leaked photo going online showed a stylus pen that is said to be a companion accessory to the upcoming phablet.

Another report posted on GSM Arena showed a photo of a stylus, dubbed the "S Pen." Based form the photos, the new stylus features a side button to help users maximize the device while on use.

The top design of the stylus also appears to be clickable, although it is yet to be determined what function this will play out in the stylus and the device.

Aside from the stylus and leaked prototype of the unit, other rumors say that the flagship device will feature 4GB of RAM, 16 MP camera, an Exynos 7422 chipset and a 4,100mAh battery.

Reports have come up that the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will be unveiled on August 12, with the new Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus.
