Mercedes-Benz finally unveils its new flagship coupe, the 2017 C-Class Coupe, ahead of the Frankfurt Auto Show next month. The new two-door vehicle has been redesigned and will feature an upgraded C300 and C300 4matic editions.

At first look, the C-Class coupe seems to be the smaller brother of the S-Class coupe down to the spoiler in the decklid and horizontal taillights, noted Auto Blog. However, it is more than just a compact version of the vehicle.

The C-Class coupe comes with a high beltline and a more obvious slope on its roof. It also comes with a uniquely shaped LED headlights and a chrome grille in the front.

Slightly longer by 3.7 inches and wider by 1.6 inches than its predecessor, the new vehicle has a bigger leg space in the front seats but with a reduced trunk area due to the roofline, described Auto News.

Drive also noticed "prominent hunches over the rear wheel arches, a generously tapered glasshouse, acutely angled rear window and high-set bootlid."

The German carmaker did not skimp on luxury in the interior of the coupe as it did on the exterior. While the inside of the vehicle is similar from the C-Class sedan, it added a one-of-a-kind sports seat in the front and rear of the new coupe along with a new automatic belt feeder.

Apart from that, the coupe also comes with new features aimed at preventing accidents when driving the vehicle. The Attention Assist feature, which has been added, tracks the motions to see if the driver seems drowsy or unable to properly maneuver the car.

The carmaker has also included its Collision Prevention Assist that automatically slows the brakes at speed of 200km/h.

The new coupe from Mercedes-Benz will be sold with a two-wheel drive C300 and all-wheel drive C300 4Matic versions initially, according to CNET.

The C300 will be equipped with a 2.0-L four-cylinder engine that has 241b horsepower combined with 273 pound-feet of torque. The C300 4Matic will likely feature the same engine but with the added advantage of the four-wheel drive option for optimal performance.

The new coupe will be sold in the U.S. beginning next spring as the 2017 C-Class coupe.

The German carmaker has decided not to release a 2016 version of the vehicle and will jump right into a 2017 edition.

Mercedes-Benz has yet to come out with pricing details for the upcoming vehicle.
